Welcome as a resident of Okstadøy Grendalag
Okstadøy Grendalag consists of approximately 160 residential units in the Okstadøy housing area. All members have an equal ownership share and one vote at the annual general meeting. Anyone who owns a residential unit in Okstadøy is required to be a member. The Grendalag has a board made up of elected residents/members. The board is responsible for managing the Grendalag on behalf of the members. It is desired that all neighborhoods are represented on the board, and that board positions rotate among the residents. The board is elected at the general meeting.
The tasks of the Grendalag:
- Maintenance of common areas, such as asphalting.
- Snow clearing on shared roads, excluding municipal roads.
- Lawn mowing.
- Maintenance of stormwater drainage.
- Community work on the shared areas every May.
- Maintenance of playgrounds is done by residents in the relevant neighborhood as a voluntary effort. Expenses are covered upon prior approval from the board.
- Christmas tree lighting.
All residents are obligated to keep the Grendalag neat and tidy, so that we create a living environment where everyone can thrive. Garbage that is not meant for or doesn’t fit in the trash containers/boxes should not be left there. Each resident is responsible for removing or storing it themselves.
Guest parking should not be used by residents of the Grendalag. If there is more than one car in the household, it must be parked on the property, if possible. Alternatively, residents may apply to the Grendalag for permission to use a dedicated parking space. This will incur a cost for the resident. Please note that only a few spaces are available for this.
Expenses related to the tasks of the Grendalag are covered by a fee paid by all members in two installments per year.
